1898 A railway station in flames

A railway station in flames
An Oban correspondent says that Dalmally Station, on the Callander and Oban Railway, was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday. It is supposed that the fire was caused by a night passenger from Inveraray by the night mail. His charred remains were found afterwards among the ruins. The station is entirely a wooden structure, and all efforts to get the fire under proved unavailing.
